Studying myself Chinese for more than six years, I have knowlegde of Chinese vocabulary and grammar but maybe I'm not good enough at speaking and listening. In my point of view, it's easy for me to learn because I think the Chinese and Vietnamese grammars are the same in general. Moreover, I have some of the experiences in writing chinese characters when I were a young boy. Actually, I have some friends who think Chinese is very difficult language to study, and they have no change to find a job. So, they have a tendency to study English or Japanese. In fact, English is the second language at Vietnam. Almost Vietnamese people have to study English for their career. The others have to study Japanese well to find a good job to work at Vietnam or to live in Japanese.
I think the Chinese is not popular language in Architecture at Vietnam. I can't find the glossary of architecture term at the Vietnamese websites. So, this is just a short list of Chinese – English Architecture vocabulary that I have studied before. It’s time for me to share to all of you.

Unfortunately, there are many 3ds Max users who have trouble with the final render output. They don't know how to print the final image with the correct DPI (dots per inch) value that is good for layout of A1 or A3 paper in Photoshop. Some of them try to render a large image, but it really take a lot of time to finish. The others have to render out and save the final image as TIFF file with 300dpi value. Remember that this way you maybe have the final image with a small size. So, I would like to inform you there is a choice of the render output in 3ds MAX. We call it as Print Size Wiard.
1. Now, start 3ds Max and open the scene you want to render.
2. Click on the render menu, then select "Print Size Assistant"
3. In the "Print Size Assistant", then you have to set up some things for final render.

Actually, there are the same kinds of this tutorial has been found on the Internet. I want to write this tutorial because I think it should be "the more the better". Please see the list of Paper Size below for more information.

Paper Size DPI Image Size (WxH)
A4 - 297x210mm 72dpi 841x595
A3 - 420x297mm 72dpi 1190x841
A2 - 594x420mm 72dpi 1683x1190
A1 - 841x594mm 72dpi 2383x1683
A0 - 1189x841mm 72dpi 3370x2383
A4 - 297x210mm 150dpi 1753x1240
A3 - 420x297mm 150dpi 2480x1753
A2 - 594x420mm 150dpi 3506x2480
A1 - 841x594mm 150dpi 4966x3507

More than 10 years of AutoCAD experience as a CAD user, I have found many tips and tricks to work more effective and creative during my working time. Fortunately, I have some tips that works well until now, although there are some changes of the AutoCAD version. Today, I would like to share one great tip but I think it would be more funny than useful. I sometime used it to open another application by using AutoCAD. This is the procedure to call another application as you see in the pictures below.

Here is how:
__________________________________
Command: Start <enter>
Application to start: calc <enter>
__________________________________
By using this tip, you should be remember the name of the application exactly. If there are something wrong, you have to check the name of the application by having a right click on the shortcut of the application, then you can look at its name. I will give you the list of the applications for testing.

Application Name of the application to be
Calculator calc
Microsoft Office Word 2007 winword
Microsoft Powerpoint powerpnt
Paint mspaint
Internet Explorer iexplore

Bentley Microstation is a powerful software but it's not popular in Viet Nam. Almost of Microstation user's point of view just think that this software has been used for Infrastruture and Map Design. I'm sure with you there are few of information about this software at the Viet Nam Construction websites and Forums, and there is nothing at the Viet Nam Architecture and Interior websites. However, I have already known that there are a little of architects who can use it to make the drawings systematically at the outsource company in Viet Nam...
As the four years experiences of Microstation user, I would like to share to all you the hidden secrets in Microstation today. In this post, I just want to say about how to make the new keyin by using many action strings together. Actually, there are two ways of stringing keyins together. The first is to simply keyin them all in on one line and separate each keyin with a semi-colon. This is typically referred to as an action string. The other is to use a script file which is described.
At the first place, I give you the great example of simple keyin that I found on Internet:
set construct toggle; selview all; update all
The explanation of the action:
set construct toggle Is the actual command to turn the construction elements on or off.
selview all Instructs MicroStation to apply the keyin to all views.
update all Updates all the views
Next, let me show you some keyins that I created and used to work a lot of projects more effective and speedy than others. This is just a few of some that I have to created during work time at the outsoucre company.
Shortcuts
Description
Key In
C1
"choose all"
"lock level on; choose all; lock level on"
C2
"choose active"
"lock level on; choose all; lock level off"
R1
"ref off"
"reference display of all; selview all; update all; reset"
R2
"ref on"
"reference display on all; selview all; update all; reset"
MF
"move fence"
"place fence block; %d;%d; fence stretch; update all"
I hope the above list of new keyins that help you have the idea to buid more complex Microstation keyins. Now, it's the time for you to explore and to make more new hidden action strings for your own skill. Please send me a comment what you think about this post, and thanks all you to review this blog.

The short survey of the Vietnamese Revit Forums and Websites, I realized that they work well with Revit Architecture but they have a liitle of technique to make new Revit family creatively. Some of them just go to the library of the Revit Forum and download automatically.
However, one great thing for most of you beginer and intermediate Revit user who want to master your knowledge and technique skill, the latest book name "Creating Custom Revit Architecture 2013 Families" from Michael Anonuevo, BIM modeler and musician, has been released for free. The powerful book that shows you how to create various kinds of Revit Family from simple to complex one, including parameters, materials, tracing images, etc.
Now, you just download the book and try to work hard to get your own skill. One next day, you will be a master of Revit user. Thanks for the author.

Fiona Stanley Hospital is a new hospital which is under construction in Murdoch, Western Australia. It is the largest building project ever undertaken for the Government of Western Australia.

The complex of buildings which form the hospital have been designed by the Fiona Stanley Hospital Design Collaboration which is a joint venture between the local offices of three architectural practices Silver Thomas Hanley,[1] Hames Sharley[2] and HASSELL. The directors responsible for the project from each firm are Giorgio Raffa, Warren Kerr and Jeff Menkens.
The managing contractor for the project is Brookfield Multiplex.
After completion of the first stage, expected in 2014, the hospital will have a capacity of 643 beds.[3] It is named after epidemiologist and public health campaigner Fiona Stanley.
The site of the hospital is adjacent to Murdoch train station, Murdoch University and the private St John of God Hospital.
