Fiona Stanley Hospital is a new hospital which is under construction in Murdoch, Western Australia. It is the largest building project ever undertaken for the Government of Western Australia.
The complex of buildings which form the hospital have been designed by the Fiona Stanley Hospital Design Collaboration which is a joint venture between the local offices of three architectural practices Silver Thomas Hanley,[1] Hames Sharley[2] and HASSELL. The directors responsible for the project from each firm are Giorgio Raffa, Warren Kerr and Jeff Menkens.
The managing contractor for the project is Brookfield Multiplex.
After completion of the first stage, expected in 2014, the hospital will have a capacity of 643 beds.[3] It is named after epidemiologist and public health campaigner Fiona Stanley.
The site of the hospital is adjacent to Murdoch train station, Murdoch University and the private St John of God Hospital.
